Cape Fear Rain Bear 2
Ink and Watercolor painting, matted in white 12” x 9”. Made with water from the Haw River. A couple years back I visited a friend with a native plant nursery and honeybees on the Cape Fear River, the lower-most portion of my home water. She was worried about drought, and we talked about the bears raiding her bee hives. I painted these bears from our shared watershed to help bring some rain to her nursery and relieve some of the strain the bears were putting on her bees :)
